Healthier Honey Jumbles

Looking for something sweet?

You don’t have to ditch the sweet treats if you go natural! This is a proven winner for my kids and yes ok, a big one for me!

A little sneak peek into the quick easy recipes available in my e-Book. You can find this on the home page under the store/subscribe tab.

These are quick, simple, natural and require no cooking. They take 5 minutes to make and then simply set and store in the refrigerator.

They will be, sorry to say….”moreish”, so 1 to 2 is enough for a snack, for the day. Eat alongside some protein, as the honey is a sugar and you don’t want to be feeling hungry in an hours time. Try things like nuts or yoghurt. Or eat alone but savour the taste as trust me, they are easy to devour but certainly hit that sweet craving so stick to only 1 or 2.

Depending on how much of the mixture you can squeeze into one patty pan, I can make 14-18 of these tasty beauties.

I choose all organic products for this recipe to reep the benefits for health.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups organic natural corn flakes (or gluten free flakes)
  • 4 tbl organic honey (You can use rice malt syrup if watching sugar and may want to add extra sweetener)
  • 4 tbl organic coconut oil
  • 3 tbl natural Stevia sweetener powder (if you like sweet, I do)
Healthier Honey Jumbles

Method

Place corn flakes in a large bowl.

Add sweetener.

Melt honey and coconut oil together in a pot or microwave (45 secs).

Pour melted oil and honey over the cornflakes and mix well.

Spoon mixture into patty pans.

Set and store in the refrigerator.

*Keep them in the refrigerator so the oil stays set. If kept in the cupboard the oil will melt and your honey jumble won’t stick together.

How easy is that! The kid’s can help, they’ll enjoy them in their lunch boxes and a much better option than pre-packaged sweets and lollies.
