Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Smoothie

Oh My Goodness! That’s what it is! Full of goodness! I’m in sweet heaven with this post workout snack! Playing with flavours I’ve come up with a Chocolate Peanut butter mousse smoothie that’s to die for! 2 sessions today and I’m ready for it!

FULL PACKED of protein from the milk and protein powder, good fats from the avocado and complex carbs and fibre from the banana.

So delicious, so filling! And yes….macros covered! Protein, fat and carbohydrates.

A great smoothie for a meal or for a post workout snack like I did! All to help replenish these muscles, help recovery and build muscle.

So simple and so unbelievably sweet and tasty. It really does remind me of my favourite, long time missed dessert…..Chocolate mousse!

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop of natural chocolate fat burning protein powder
  • 1/2 cup skim, almond or preferred (calories will vary on milk. Unsweetened Almond milk has the lowest fat and most protein, then skim then full cream)
  • 1 small/medium size banana, peeled
  • 1/2 small avocado
  • 2 tbl smooth peanut butter

Chcolate peanut butter smoothie

Method

In a blender or smoothie maker, place all ingredients.

Blend on medium to high speed until all mixed well. Don’t blend for too long as you don’t want it extremely runny in consistency.

Blend 15 seconds, then with a spoon make sure no ingredients such as the protein powder are stuck to the lid, if so, dig out and drop into mixture in base of mixer. Blend again until mixture is smooth.

To serve, pour into a glass.

You can top with Greek yoghurt, mixed berries and melted peanut butter and dark chocolate. I mixed a bit of coconut oil in so it was runny. You can run down the inside of a glass by using a small spoon and drizzling it from the side at the top tilting the glass as doing so. Do this before putting any ingredients in! Only 1/4-1/2 fill spoon so you can get the narrow drizzle effect rather than big blobs.

Top with a few sliced almonds.

Can be eaten immediately or refrigerated for the next day. it will become a bit thicker once refrigerated. But hey it’s just like chocolate mousse anyway!
